FUNERAL TRAIN, Missouri Pacific Engine No. 382, in 1928. Heading due south through Austin, this decorated locomotive carried the body of revered aviation pioneer, Emilio Carranza, back to his native country of Mexico following his death in New Jersey in 1928. Known as the "Lindbergh of Mexico," Carranza died shortly after take-off on a stormy flight from New York City to Mexico. [PICA 05411]
